Solved: Problem with CID on iOS

If you have a problem with showing ID in Messages and iMessages, or CID (Caller ID) like I had, here is what you need to do.

Regarding the problem with CID in Recent Calls and ID in Messages, the solution is rather simple – you need to edit your Contacts entries so that they have the numbers in the international format. For example, for Serbia the numbers would be entered like this: +381117654321. When that is done all should be fine.

If not, for the iMessages the problem shows up when you sync Contacts from more than one Cloud account. I recommend Syncing only one Phonebook, the one you use as the default one. The only problem with this solution is that there is not a way (that I found at least), that can delete the Cached Contacts left behind even when you turn off secondary account sync. So you can just reset your phone to factory settings, and set it up from scratch. Just make sure that in the process you do not set up more than one Contacts sync again, or you will have the same problem all over again.

For those of you that see this as too much hassle, there is always Jailbreak. 😉
