How to change a light switch

Disclaimer: Do not do this if you are not trained at all in electrical engineering. It can get you seriously injured or even killed if not executed right.

You have determined that the switch does not work.

Loosen the screws and open the switch lid carefuly.

Test which wire is + and which is the – with the tool.

This is – in my case.

This is + in my case.

Then go to the fuse box.

And take out/turn off the right fuse for that that switch.

Just to be safe, check the + wire if it has any voltage in it.

When you are sure, take the faulty switch off.

Then put the new one on.

And screw it in the wall.

Put the protective mask on.

And the switch lid, and you are done!
