I recently upgraded to the latest release of macOS Big Sur, which brought a complete redesign of everything. As it’s a new version, I expected bugs, but Apple and/or some of the 3rd party dev’s really dropped the ball regarding the icons in the (Finder) menu bar.

macOS Big Sur was in beta for a long time. This could have been spotted during beta and solved already. Sad to see that we are still not getting a polished product, even after the long awaited big release. This will probably get resolved relatively soon, but still.
