Beware of dating app scammers

On September 15th I had an encounter with a scammer on Tinder, so I think it is wise to publish this for others to see and be wary of some behaviours that are increasingly happening on dating apps.

Here is what happened:

  1. We matched on Tinder
  2. Exchanged emails
  3. Started a thread and exchanged photos

Scammer went by the name of an assumed identity Shania Park, used the email shaniapark69@gmail.com and sent these photos:

The identity is most probably fabricated, but the photos are stolen from someone’s Online profile(s) for sure.

The scammer usualy starts by a story that tries to get you to feel sympathy and hornyness at the same time, so the first email was of this variety:

I’m Shania. I’m 35 years young, 5’6″ and 125 lbs.  some pretty fit right? lol. I’ve got divorced a year ago and i’m proud to be a single mum . I want to meet a new and genuine person and I’m here for Vacation . So I thought while I’m here I will look for some adventure and fun.  Maybe a friend, a partner in crime, partner in compassion or what. I just want to be happy again with someone. Anyway, where do you live? and can you tell me about yourself? I hope to hear you back.
PS. here are some pictures of me and my cute dude I hope you like it. xoxo

Next one (or few) are suppose to “wheel” you in with some chit-chat, so the next one was of this contents:

I am glad to hear you back 🙂 I’m From Australia but right now I’m in Barco. Anyway, to tell more about myself, I’m a food lover, always enjoying mother nature and family always comes first. To tell something about me, i have a great sense of humor and very easy out going person. I do love rock music and i’d like to try new and diff. things 🙂 Like baking and cooking new recipes lol.

Then the phishing attempts start, with email(s) with links, usualy with some story about how they need to ensure them selves before you two meet. This is how this looked like:

Sure. What time ? I’m down for anything! so should i go casual? or maybe you prefer special wear 😉 Anyway, before we meet i need to be sure that i’m safe first because i just heard from my friends that nowadays its really scary to meet a guy that you only know online. Now my friends recommend this safe dating site called Love or Play. The essence of this site is to detect who i am, and who am i with, so if ever something bad happens to me the site can contact the authority real quick, i have to ask you to be a member of this site i am on, This is not only for me but for your own safety too. This is the link    https://loveorplay.com/secure/210bc.htm    . You don’t have to be worry about paying anything here on the site because i upgraded my account into a VIP member, so i will let you use my VIP code which is ” VIPsan2 ” so you can register and get a Love or Play ID for FREE. So once you get approved. They will send you directly to my page, so please promise me that you will keep it secret once you see my private information there ok? I’m really excited now,  Well my motto is… Don’t let your pass get in the way of all the good things that might happen on the future.
PS. This is me again, Kisses for you 😘

If you do not fall on that, then they try to confuse you with some half-techy story like this:

Babe don’t worry for your card info , CC its for age majority approval only but it wont cost you or charge you there even a cent as long as you use the ACCESS CODE that I gave to you because the “ACCESS CODE” & “FREE ACCESS” Button is use to protect your card from any charges on the site. The site is a 128 bit SSL Encrypted Secured, meaning your information will never be shared to any third party, you can take control of the information that you shared there in the site. I’m into fun not to give BS to the other people. I just want to us to be both safe, and so we can have a peace of mind having fun together when we meet 🙂

And this:

Here’s the link > https://createyourprofiles.com/setup/210c.html
Alright listen you can see the fill up form once you switch your mobile phone into desktop view.. check click the 3 dot on the lower part. then you will see the DESKTOP VIEW, just click the box button and your browser will switch to desktop and let me know if you see the fill up form..  Or try in laptop or desktop

And when you get them nervious, they start writing worse and worse:

dont fool me lol send me a screenshit ?

The moral of the story is DO NOT EVER, FOR ANY REASON GIVE OUT YOU DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD TO ANY RADNOM PERSON ON THE INTERNET. All of the stories that sound too good to be true usualy are! Be safe!

I had the same scammer with the exact same copy of emails a few weeks ago, telling me ‘she’ was in Toluca instead of Barco. But the emails were otherwise exactly the same. The most obvious thing is the terrible use of English when someone claims they are from a country like Australia, where the native language is English

“some pretty fit right? lol.” doesn’t really make proper sense and “I hope to hear you back” – no native English speaker would write like that. Even retards

Hey man, thanks for reaching out.

Regarding the bad english, keep in mind there are some sophisticated scammers out there that have much better use of languages. Be safe.

Happened to me also from colleenadkins9@gmail.com, Google disabled the scammer account and she then sent me a new email from colleenadkins8@gmail.com. Be careful

Thanks for sharing the story, i was about to fall for it… thanks to you guys!
I was about to click on the security link the girl asked me to run through, so i simply tried googling Love or Play and found nothing of course.. until i came across your post!!! Then i instantly spammed it on my mail
I hope that so far they didnt get to infiltrate any of my data by just having me reply to their emails, right?

If you did not open the link at all, and did not send any data that can be used against you, you are good. Thanks for sharing Fadi.

Thanks so much for sharing!! Just about to fall a few minutes ago.
Exactly the same: matched on Tinder, email exchange, Australian single mum, bad English, horny photos followed by some with child, link received to register in “Love or Play” with vip access code.
I clicked on the link but i neither registered nor provided any data. Hope I’m safe.
    Beware of prettyryn083@gmail.com !!
